i don't get why all the high fashion houses insist on killing their perfumes with reformulation?! gotta hand it to new perfumers who r making niche perfumes that worth every penny!RIP Cinema :( My review is for the current formulation.I also have the flanker Cinema Festival, which is a luxury summer scent.
I keep seeing that word "elegant" in other reviews, and the description is apt. I really loved this fragrance, but unfortunately I ended up being allergic to something in it (the first and only time I had a reaction to a perfume) and my skin and it did not play well together, so I had to get rid of it. Longevity is very good, I am smelling the dry down from a test strip after 24h and it is still full bodied. She's dependable, unbreakable, genuine to the bitter end, and does it all in bold lipstick and pumps.
Maybe it's just the reformulation because I agree with the reviewer below who compared it to the smell of cheap hairspray. years and years passed by and i always wanted to sniff it again so i ended up ordering a bottle and i was so eager to try it!
let me start with what i still remember from cinema when it first launched... well it dissapoint me :( the reformulation killed the scent, now it's an alcohol mess that smells like a cheap hair spray with no projection... this is a classic in the house perfume history and yet they killed it! they are a luxury brands so one should expect their perfumes to be expensive!
Overall, Cinema is very elegant, classy, but perhaps a bit too cloying and rich for everyday use.
Great projection and sillage, one spritz is definitely enough! YSL Cinema is the only perfume that actually makes me smile. When during the day you catch a whiff and it just makes you happy?
